A vision of simplicity with a dash of the sublime, Henry Jacques reveals the IL YA AVAIT UN JARDIN collection. This release marks the first collection in ten years after the launch of the maison’s much sought-after Les Classiques in their Les Essences variation.
Inspired by the idea of elevating a universal and timeless staple, IL Y AVAIT UN JARDIN can be described as a collection of primary colours, fragrances that have become a familiar presence for generations, that invites the weather to a life of simple pleasures and pure ritual.
The format is generous, holding 250ml of the fragrance, and the design is meant to encourage the wearer to repeat the gesture of wearing the fragrance. It serves as an invitation to reconnect with the extraordinary beauty of the ordinary by contemplating the beauty found within a simple garden.
Literally translated to “There was a garden…”, the name of the collection highlights Henry Jacques’ desire to be so closely connected to the raw materials in its composition that the wearer feels immersed in the landscape of a garden.
The two fragrances I and II are composed from natural ingredients straight from Italian orchards of a Calabrian family whom Henry Jacques connected with, as the two share the Maison’s respect for tradition and visionary spirit. The family has been producing the world’s finest citrus for generations, ensuring the use of the highest-quality raw materials for the collection.
The two compositions are deeply rooted in the heart of the Maison, with one even inspired by a formula kept within the confidentiality of the family circle for years, showcasing the timeless nature of Cologne-inspired perfumes.
Orange blossom lovers will delight in the first, with its unexpected ambery notes, uplifted by a hint of aromatic rosemary. While the second offers a fresh citrusy opening with hints of petitgrain bigarade. It follows with rich and earthy bark notes, giving it a warm depth that lingers on the skin.
