Grand Seiko has presented three new timepieces: Spring Drive 20th Anniversary Limited Editions featuring two Spring Drive Chronograph GMT references and the Spring Drive 9R15 as part of its Sport Collection in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of its Spring Drive.
As powerful statement pieces, the three timepieces are instantly recognisable as coming from the Grand Seiko stable with characteristics that define the brand. In fact, the lion mark on the emblem of Grand Seiko is represented on all three watches in the form of an 18K gold insert in the oscillating weight marking the enhanced accuracy of the specially adjusted movements of ±0.5 seconds a day.

Part of the appeal of the new watches is the new design with Zaratsu polished cases while the surfaces of the hands and hour markers have diamond-cut edges.
Even in the most demanding sports environment, the Spring Drive is able to maintain a precision of 0.5 seconds a day thanks to its high resistance to shock and temperature.
The use of Lumibrite, Seiko luminous paints, on the hands, hour markers and bezels ensures that the time remains highly legible regardless of the time of day.
Grand Seiko has gone to great lengths to improve usability and comfort of the watch with the back of the case angled inwards and curved lugs ensure a soft fit on the wrist. In addition, the concave shape of the chronograph buttons ensures that the finger does not slip.
The three new timepieces are powered by two Spring Drive calibres, the Caliber 9R96 in the chronographs and the Caliber 9R15 in the three-handed Spring Drive 9R15.
The Spring Drive Chronograph GMT is available in the choice of 18k rose gold case with crocodile leather strap or high-intensity titanium on both the case and bracelet, limited to 100 pieces and 500 pieces respectively, while the Spring Drive 9R15 is available in titanium and limited to 500 pieces.
