Girard-Perregaux recently released it’s new sports watch the Laureato Absolute Rock, a 100-limited edition run timepiece that exhibits the brand’s sporty side while offering a truly unique eye-catching design.
The highlight of the Laureato Absolute Rock is the use of the new carbon glass material on the case that is known for its water resistance, strength and lightness. Not only is it eight times lighter than steel but it is said to be 100 times resistant than the tough alloy.
Featuring a 44mm case, the Laureato Absolute Rock is different from the traditional Laureato due to the piece’s striking blue and black camo-style pattern. Each piece is one-of-a-kind as the extreme compression process used to smoothen the compressed carbon and blue fibres result in a truly unique pattern.
Not satisfied with just a rounded case the Laureato Absolute Rock’s has a prominent octagonal bezel that frames and draws your attention the dial. But apart from that, the Laureato Absolute Rock stands out thanks to its two superimposed dials, using hollowed plates that are placed one on top of the other to give it some depth as each hour marker is sunken to show the bottom plate beneath it. Also on the face are three subdials with a seconds subdial at the 3 o’clock position along with a 30-minute counter (9 o’clock)Â and 12-hour counter (6 o’clock).
Other noticeable features include a subtle yet noticeable date window at the 4:30 position. Even the Girard-Perregaux “GP” logo on the very top has a matte textured finish that makes it stand out from the rest of the dial.
Inside the watch is equipped with a GP03300-1058 automatic movement that offers a 46-hour power reserve and is comprised of an impressive 419 components.
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Rock is priced at CHF15,900 (MYR66,434) and is available at select Girard-Perregaux boutiques globally.
