06 MACASSAR EBONY
Regarded as one of the most-sought after woods in the world, Macassar ebony (Diospyros celebica) has been a woodworker’s favourite for centuries. Originating mostly from remote areas located in Indonesia, this dense hardwood is highly sought after by master woodcrafters to be fashioned into exquisite musical instruments and high-quality furniture. When viewed up-close, the variegated appearance of the grain reveals a striking stripedpattern that can vary in width as well as colour, ranging from black and charcoal grey to pinkish tan.
