Fendi Men’s Spring Summer 2022

Fendi recently unveiled its Men’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection virtually inside the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. The Digital fashion show was tuned in by celebrities and open to the world to...

For the first time, Fendi takes inspiration from the digital world we live in today. Due to the world pandemic, everyone is going online and creating their digital footsteps. The fashion show took place during sunset, with the background of the pastel sky. The landscape reflected Fendi’s Spring/Summer colour palette hues of soft pastel lemon and lime, ice blue, lavender, pistachio and peony.

“How you see things – and from where you see them – has never been more important,” says Silvia Venturini Fendi, Artistic Director of Fendi Accessories and Menswear. “Our singular point of view in this period has modified our perception of the world – and mine has become so linked to what I see from the arches and the rooftop of our building. It is almost like a bird’s eye view of Rome from here. The colours and the perspective are always changing – the soft palette of the Roman sky across the day is so beautiful and I wanted it to be a focal point of this collection.”

The collection was inspired by reflections of watching the world from above, with lightness and daydream. Plucked from the Fendi archives, an illustrated map of Rome becomes Fendi Land. A cartographic drawing of the city where the Palazzo Fendi springs up at the centre and the Tiber river flows through a labyrinth of buildings and streets adorned there with the freehand FF logos.

Celebrities from all over the world viewed the fashion show online, namely American producer, songwriter and hit-maker Diplo and Welsh actor Tom Ellis, star of the worldwide number one ranking Netflix show, “Lucifer”. Spanish actor Manu Rios, star of the new and hotly-anticipated season 4 of Netflix show “Elite”, Italian actor Giuseppe Dave Seke, star of the hit Netflix show “Zero” and Japanese actor Shohei Miura, winner of the best award at the 34th Japan Academy Awards were among the guest tuning in. From other points across the world, Korean actor Lee Dong Wook, Chinese actor Xu Kai, named in the prestigious “Forbes 30 under 30 lists” alongside esteemed actor and Fendi China leather goods spokesperson, Zhang Ruoyun.

The virtual attendees from across the world were pictured wearing full Fendi Spring/Summer 2022 previous looks.

Watch the Fendi Men’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection film, a majestic ode to the Roman landscape paying homage to the tropes of early science fiction cinema directed by Nico Vascellari. The film is accompanied by a 9-minute bespoke electronic composition by the Italian composer Alessandro Cortini.
