From the artistic minds of Ulysse Nardin come a new timepiece that pays homage to Zheng He, the legendary Chinese Muslim admiral and the greatest adventurer in Chinese maritime history. Handcrafted from 18K rose gold and powered by the self-winding UN-815 COSC-certified movement, the dial of the Classico Zheng He depicts the treasure boat used by the legendary explorer who led seven incredible voyages during the early 15th-century Ming Dynasty. Created by enamel specialists Donzé Cadrans, this intricate design was achieved using an ancient decorative technique known as cloisonné, which involves tracing an image using a fine wire made of gold to create compartments on which the enamel is then carefully deposited. A true testament of immense effort and patience, each Classico Zheng He dial takes an estimated 50 hours and 26 separate processes to complete.
