For Hublot, fusion is not a mere act of placing differing materials together – it’s an art. Hence, the creation of its celebrated Art of Fusion motto. Hublot’s fusion now meets fashion by joining hands with Italia Independent through its illustrious founder Lapo Elkann, who’s frequently named the most elegant man in the world.
As a man with a keen eye for style and the sartorial, Elkann reached out to renowned Italian tailors Rubinacci for the stunning collection of fabrics in its archives. Combing through more than 60,000 sq m of precious houndstooth, tweeds and beautiful fabrics, Hublot and Lapo Elkann found the finest pieces of cloths – a bold black-andwhite houndstooth, three varieties of Prince of Wales check, a pair of lively tartans – and gave them new life as the Classic Fusion Chronograph Italia Independent collection. Mixing metals with the finest fabrics, six watches are created in three different case materials of titanium, ceramic and the proprietary King Gold, all measuring 45mm in diameter.
These select fabrics dress the watch, extending from the strap all the way to the dial, excluding the chronograph counters which are in complementary shades that results in a striking yet refined aesthetic. All six of these tasteful timepieces come fitted with a calibre HUB1143 automatic chronograph movement with 42 hours of power reserve.
