With stores in more than 150 countries, Longines has established itself as a long-standing symbol of timeless elegance and charm.  This Swiss watchmaker boasts a beautiful museum in Saint-Imier, Switzerland that recounts the rich history of the company dating back to 1832.  Their timepieces showcase their appreciation for watchmaking tradition, elegance as well as a taste of adventure and sports.  This sense of inclusivity is part of what influences Longines’ fine watchmaking creations that boast technical and esthetical excellence throughout almost two centuries of history and tradition.

Malaysia’s 64th Independence Day marks another special occasion for Longines as it seeks to commemorate the event by recommending two of its fine collections, the Longines Legend Diver Watch and the HydroConquest line.

Perfectly representing the Longines Sport Collection, the HydroConquest line is dedicated to men and women who appreciate a high-performance timepiece that combines technical innovation and elegance.  It takes its inspiration from the world of water sports where the demanding athlete is able to showcase his or her distinctive bold and outstanding style.  With a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screw-down crown and case back, double security folding clasp, and an integrated diving extension piece, this marvel of a creation is also water-resistant up to 300 metres. The black sunray dial and rose coloured Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) ensures this piece stands out elegantly.  Its bezel and ceramic insert are also colour coordinated to match the dial.  Its glass is scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, with several layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside and its power reserve is approximately 72 hours.  It has a 41mm case with a black rubber strap and a self-winding mechanical movement (calibre L888.5).

Meanwhile, the Legend Diver Watch takes a page out of the rich heritage, spirit and pure lines of the original 1960s diver watch and gives it a reinterpretation.  Contemporary yet steeped in history, this tantalising version features luminous hands, hour markers interspersed with luminescent squares and Arabic numerals enhanced with Super-Luminova® rectangles for optimum visibility.  Its glass is scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, with several layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside.  Boasting a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, the elegant steel with brown model has a 42mm case, and a case back that is decorated with an embossed emblem of a diver.  This legendary and elegant timepiece is water-resistant up to 300 metres and contains a self-winding mechanical movement (calibre L888.5).  It also features a brown leather strap to match the colour of the dial.  This latest edition of the Legend Diver Watch is well on its way to being a coveted collector’s timepiece.

These exquisite timepieces combine functionality with sporty design and Longines recommends them as an ideal choice for Malaysia’s 64th Independence Day whilst also being perfectly suited for everyday wear.
