The Breguet Classique 7147 Is The Epitome of Elegance

An elegant new timepiece from Breguet.

Unveiled at Baselworld this year, the Classique 7147 is a fine embodiment of the Breguet spirit from the movement right down to the tasteful decorations. Harking back to the watchmaker’s historic pieces, the Classique 7147 bears a radiant white dial of grand feu enamel painted with slender Breguet numerals and features a poetic minute track. These slim numerals marking the time are indicated by traditional blued steel Breguet hands with an offset open tip, while the small seconds are hinted at a discreet subdial at 5 o’clock. Turning the 40mm watch over further reveals Breguet’s excellence in watchmaking, as the beautifully decorated Calibre 502.3SD self-winding movement, graced with Côtes de Genève and Clous de Paris hobnailing, is seen through a sapphire crystal caseback. The handsome dress watch is available in 18K rose gold and white gold variants, and comes with an alligator leather strap with gold pin buckle.

DID YOU KNOW?

One simply can’t miss the elegant numerals gracing the dials of Breguet watches. Known as Arabic Breguet numerals, they were designed by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the brand’s founder himself, and is one of watchmaking’s most famous fonts. The Breguet numerals first appeared before the French Revolution, sharing the dial with tiny stars to mark the minutes and stylised fleurs de lis at five-minute intervals before assuming their final form by 1790.
