Bell & Ross Awakens its Spirit With The New BR 03-92 Radiocompass Timepiece

The BR 03-92 RadioCompass, modelled after the radio navigation tool, is a new addition to Bell & Ross’ flight instrument line.

Just landed.

Inspired by the radio navigation tool, Bell & Ross Introduces the BR 03–92 Radiocompass Watch. Bell & Ross recently announced a new line of watches, the BR 03-92 Radiocompass. The collection is modern and contemporary, joining the iconic Flight Instruments Collection. As you would expect, Bell & Ross is known for creating timepieces that are inspired by aviation history, instruments, and design.

What exactly is a Radio Compass? We’ll save you the trouble of doing a quick Google search. The Radio Compass is an in-flight radio receiver that describes an aircraft’s position and direction via ground beacons. The Radio Compass serves as the inspiration for this highly technical watch. Pilots can use this indispensable navigation tool regardless of visibility. It is especially useful for flying at night, in fog, or in the rain.

Let’s start with Legibility, Bell & Ross first design principle. The hour and minute hands stand out and are sure to catch your attention. A broad orange skeletonized hand extends past the centre of the dial and is designed with a broad arrow, denoting the hour. As for the minute hand, it has a narrower stem and a neon yellow colour highlight. Bell & Ross adds the letter “H” in the arrow of the hour hand and “M” in the middle of the minute hand to further distinguish the hands of the watch. The BR 03-92 Radiocompass’s case is 42mm square and 10.4mm in height, making it easy on the wrist. Comparable models measure 46mm, so this watch is suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes.

Let’s move on to Functionality. The matte black ceramic case on the BR 03-92 Radiocompass ensures that the watch remains scratch-free and looks as good as new. The numerals and 12-hour triangle marker are filled with Super-Luminova,  making the watch visible even in complete darkness.

Lastly, the Reliability and Precision. On a full wind, this new collection should last about 42 hours! Powering the watch is the BR-CAL.302 automatic calibre, which is based on the Sellita SW300-1.

This luxurious watch makes this collection a welcome addition to Bell & Ross Flight Instruments collection.  As far as availability goes, the BR 03-92 Radiocompass will be limited to 999 pieces or if you want more information and to place orders, please visit the Bell & Ross website.
