DE BEERS
Ascend your throne on Mount Olympus, seated amongst the Gods, as you adorn yourself with jewels made from the hands of the legendary blacksmith of Olympus, Vulcan. The legend sees Vulcan working in the depths of a South African volcano, when a spark is struck from his tools, causing diamonds to fly everywhere and the eruption of flowing lava across the land. De Beers breathes life back into the legends of Olympus with its Vulcan set evoking molten lava flowing from a crater with a plethora of diamonds in all shapes, sizes and colour. The collection consists of polished round diamonds, fancy colourful diamonds, pear–shaped diamond drops and rough diamonds, whose texture is meant to allude to the surface of volcanic rocks. The entire collection is expertly crafted by the designers of the maison, with its centrepiece being the Vulcan necklace. Set with five pear-shaped diamonds alongside three lines of diversely shaped and coloured diamonds, the necklace calls to attention the contradictory nature of diamonds, with rough diamonds lending character to the polished ones. The Vulcan set consists of a necklace, bracelet, earrings, pearl-cut ring and round brilliant ring. The beautiful collection may well astound Vulcan as well as his wife, Aphrodite.
