Following the official establishment of Grand Seiko as a standalone company last year, this year the Japanese manufacture aims to impress by rolling out a good selection of watches, all paying tribute to their staple 9S movement. 20 years ago, the 9S calibre was created for Grand Seiko watches and arguably, it is the calibre that put them on the map. To celebrate this occasion, they launched the High Beat 36,000 VFA SBGH265. The V.F.A. acronym printed on the dial stands for “Very Fine Adjusted†meaning the Calibre 9S85 movement within has been adjusted by only the most skillful watchmakers in the Japanese manufacture so the accuracy of the watch is controlled to +3/-1 second per day.
