23. Whiplash Curve
The Art Nouveau movement was a shortlived era that produced a variety of intricate and astoundingly beautiful jewellery pieces that drew influence from many of the events from its time. An iconic trait shared among jewellery from this era is the curling and flowing lines, also known as whiplash curve. These curved, flowing lines and motifs became synonymous with the movement, and many artists adopted the syncopated rhythms and smooth flow within their own works.
