Volvo Champions Padel Again with Malaysia’s Largest Padel Tournament.

Padel enthusiasts, this one’s for you. Volvo Car Malaysia is bringing back its Volvo Padel Open, the nation’s largest tournament of its kind. Set to take place every weekend from 21 June to 27 July 2025, the competition is not just about instilling fun but to also develop emerging talent in Malaysia’s rapidly growing padel scene.

Now in its second year, the event promises new match formats as well as expanded categories. Open to up to 320 players of varying skill levels — from newcomers to seasoned regional competitors — the tournament aims to further establish padel as one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

The Volvo Padel Open returns with more matches and categories, cementing its place as Malaysia’s largest padel tournament.

In addition to allowing players to test their mettle, the Volvo Padel Open will also feature complimentary coaching clinics for those keen to sharpen their skills. As an added bonus, there’s also exclusive Volvo sports kits, court-side access to the grand finals, and a host of prizes and partner experiences.

Volvo Car Malaysia’s Marketing Operations and PR Director, Patricia Yaw, points out the brand’s alignment with padel, noting its social inclusivity, innovation, and strong sense of community. “When players think of Volvo, they think of padel,” Yaw explains. “We’re committed to championing a sport that mirrors our brand values, and we’re proud to return with an even bigger and better edition this year.”

The 2025 tournament sees returning support from club partners Padelground and PadelKu, with Joy Division Padel as its newest addition. These clubs will serve as key venues and coaching hubs throughout the event.

“Padel’s dynamic gameplay and social appeal have led to a surge in local interest,” adds Thomas Ryard, Co-director of Padelground. “The Volvo Padel Open has been instrumental in that growth in Malaysia, and we’re excited to welcome even more players this year.”

Charl Hermus Marais, Operations Director of PadelKu, opines that the quality of play has improved notably since last year. “We’ve expanded to new locations and are ready to support players with the skills and strategies needed to compete at a higher level.”
