This month, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is hosting Van Cleef & Arpels’ Perlée pop-up, the grand finale of its Southeast Asia tour. The showcase celebrates the golden bead motif, a Maison signature since the 1920s, with jewelry, timepieces, and playful installations.
French artist Arthur Hoffner transforms the space into a vibrant playground. His scenography captures the movement, lightness, and joy of Perlée. Floating beads and dynamic structures fill the space. Highlights include the Ferris Wheel, Hourglass, and Fountain game. Interactive stations such as Balance Maze, OXO, and Connect 4 invite guests to play.
“The Perlée collection embodies movement, playfulness and lightness. Since the beginning of our collaboration, I have sought to embody these notions through settings designed as playgrounds for the pearl, in a suspended trajectory. This is why most of the elements seem to
be floating, almost unstable in this sophisticated arrangement and dynamic scenography, where colors reinforce the contrasts, the interplay of full and emptiness,” said Arthur Hoffner.
The pop-up displays both contemporary and patrimonial Perlée creations. Since 2008, the collection has reimagined golden beads in yellow, white, and rose gold. Pieces include signature bracelets, Alhambra clovers framed in beads, and secret watches set with ornamental stones and diamonds. Archival designs—like the 1940s Couscous and Bagatelle pieces, 1950s animal clips, and 1990s mother-of-pearl jewels—show the motif’s evolution.
The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur edition offers more than a showcase. It invites visitors into Perlée’s joyful world, where heritage meets modern design and Van Cleef & Arpels’ craftsmanship shines in every detail.
