Music And Movie Magic
Combining the power of live music with the cinematic brilliance of The Godfather, the performance promises an unforgettable experience for both film and music enthusiasts. The film, considered one of the greatest ever made, won three Academy Awards® including Best Picture and Best Actor for Marlon Brando, and continues to earn top rankings in global critics’ polls and public surveys.
“It is with great excitement that we are able to bring this masterful score and film to Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS,” said Justin Freer, Conductor and Producer of The Godfather LIVE. “There is little film music as instantly recognizable as Nino Rota’s opening trumpet theme, and few films as masterfully made as The Godfather. This live experience is both a visual and aural celebration of cinematic history.”

Set against the backdrop of post-war New York, The Godfather follows the powerful Corleone family through a decade of transformation, betrayal, and legacy. Alongside Brando, the film stars Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall, John Cazale, and Diane Keaton, and helped launch the modern era of American filmmaking.
The soundtrack, composed by the acclaimed Italian maestro Nino Rota, blends classical orchestration with Italian folk influences and jazz, and is considered one of the greatest film scores of all time. The “Love Theme from The Godfather” remains an instantly recognizable piece of cinematic music, ranked No. 5 on the American Film Institute’s list of greatest film scores.
“We are proud to embrace the evolution of live performance and hope this concert honours the many talented musicians who bring movie music to life,” said Freer. Tickets are priced from RM298 and are now available at the DFP Box Office.
