2. Hibiki
In the late 1980s, Suntory, under the guidance of Shinjiro Torii, established Hibiki, its subsidiary, with the aim of creating a unique whisky culture in Japan. Over the years, Hibiki has become renowned for its harmonious blends of malt and grain whiskies from Suntory’s acclaimed distilleries, establishing itself as an icon of Japanese luxury from the award-winning House of Suntory Whiskey.
Hibiki produces several rare expressions, including the age-statement bottles of Hibiki 21-Year and 30-Year, which are highly sought-after by whisky enthusiasts around the world. The exquisite blends created by Hibiki have earned the brand several accolades over the years.
One of the most expensive editions of the Hibiki whisky is the Suntory Hibiki 35 Year Old (Tokuda Yasokichi III), which has a selling price of close to USD 50,000. Only 150 bottles of this elegant blend were ever produced, making it a collector’s dream to own one of these.
Hibiki’s unique blends have made a significant contribution to the growth of whisky culture in Japan.
