There’s nothing quite like being in the live audience and watching a theatre performance unfold before your very eyes. A well produced play can be one of the most immersive entertainment experiences, telling stories that encompasses the comedic highs and tragic lows that life often throws our way. Sometimes, watching a particularly relatable show can even be a sort of catharsis to laugh away the stress of the day-to-day.
If you’re looking to catch a production some time soon, here are some select productions for you to check out.
The stage is empty yet it is ready to tell a story, this time the audience decides what will be told on stage. Blank is a play that is wholly based on collaboration, with the performers and audience members working to tell a different story every night. No directors and no set, just performers open to any possibility and an audience who are willing to help them along. The cast of Blank changes every night and one performer will take on the role of the storyteller, while a member of the audience will be chosen as the character to help shape a story based on aspects of their life they are willing to share. Every night, the cast receives a script they’ve never seen before, with certain words left blank for the actor and audience to fill in.
