TRX Rainforest Art Exhibition Reimagines A Malaysian Landscape At Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur

A rainforest-inspired showcase brings together Malaysian artists resulting in a living gallery.

To mark World Art Day, the TRX Rainforest Art Exhibition unfolds as a month-long showcase across Kuala Lumpur. Set within Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur and Tun Razak Exchange, the exhibition moves beyond a traditional gallery format. It positions art as part of space, design, and cultural identity.

Anchored in the theme Flora & Fauna of the Malaysian Rainforest, the exhibition brings together both established and emerging artists. Each work offers a distinct interpretation of Malaysia’s biodiversity through varied mediums and perspectives. The showcase reflects a growing shift within the local creative scene toward environmental storytelling and cultural expression.

The setting plays a defining role in shaping the experience. Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur’s “Botanics Beyond Aesthetics” design philosophy anchors the overall visual direction. Earthy textures, layered greenery, and curated interiors echo the rainforest narrative throughout the space.

Artworks are placed across the Arrival Lobby, The Living Room, Tuai + Till, and selected areas within TRX. This approach allows the exhibition to unfold naturally across everyday environments. Visitors encounter works organically, rather than following a fixed or structured gallery route.

This spatial integration transforms the exhibition into a living gallery. Art becomes part of daily movement within the space, rather than a separate destination. The experience feels fluid, intentional, and closely connected to its surroundings.

The exhibition also highlights strong participation from the local creative community. A total of 111 artworks were submitted, each reflecting personal narratives and cultural references. These works range from detailed wildlife studies to abstract explorations of texture, colour, and form.

Together, the pieces emphasise both the richness and fragility of Malaysia’s natural environment. They reinforce the role of art in shaping awareness while encouraging deeper connection with nature. The narrative moves beyond aesthetics into reflection and interpretation.

Beyond the artworks, the exhibition contributes to TRX’s broader identity. It positions the district as more than a financial and lifestyle hub within the city. Art and community become integral to its evolving urban landscape.

Selected artworks are available for purchase throughout the exhibition period. This creates a direct link between artists and audiences while supporting local creative practice. It also allows visitors to engage with the works beyond the exhibition setting.

Running throughout the month, the TRX Rainforest Art Exhibition presents the Malaysian rainforest as an evolving narrative. Within a design-led environment, art, nature, and urban living intersect seamlessly. The result feels immersive, considered, and distinctly contemporary.
