The fourth Singapore International Jazz Festival from 31st March till 2nd April sees the likes of Esperanza Spalding, Chaka Khan, Gilles Peterson, Youssou N’dour and Corin Bailey Rae performing this year. The star-studded event, held at Marina Bay Sands, will include a tribute to blues legend BB King by R&B stalwart Ray Parker Jr. Also included in the lineup is Ernesto Enriquex who will get the party going with his Afro-Cuban sound.
Famed UK DJ Gilles Peterson is looking forward to introducing his all-star line-up of UK jazz artists to Singapore, ”This is such an unbelievably good time for British jazz! Not since my early years listening to the jazz funk of groups like Incognito and Level 42 have I felt such a sense of community around a music scene. We’re fortunate to have a very solid buzzing base for jazz and improvised music in the UK – both Nubya and Zara are two of the newer stars of recent times… I’m so excited to share this unique collaboration at SING JAZZ 2017.â€
The concerts will be held at the outdoor Main Stage before VIP concerts goers then move to a private indoor Late Show venue. For the first time, too, VIPs can treat themselves with a premium elevated view of the outdoor stage at the newly opened Lanson Champagne Terrace.
Participating sponsors and partners of SING JAZZ include the Singapore Tourism Board and Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore.
