Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to George Gershwin

Rhapsody in blue.

As part of Montblanc’s commitment to help keep the tradition of classical music alive, it has introduced the latest edition of its Donation Pen that pays tribute to the life and legacy of one of the most significant music composers of the 20th century, George Gershwin.

The shape of the Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to George Gershwin draws inspiration from the original shape of the Montblanc Meisterst from the 1920s and 1930s, and used in early editions of the Donation Pen. The cap and barrel are made of black precious resin with platinum coated fitting

An incredibly gifted pianist, one of Gershwin’s most loved pieces was Rhapsody in Blue. In the same way, the fountain pen’s ink window in a blue colour is a reference to this enduring Gershwin masterpiece.

The cap ring is engraved with a view of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, paying homage to Brooklyn, his place of birth, and an engraving of the composer’s signature. Meanwhile, the rhodium-coated Au585 gold nib is finely adorned with stylized skyscrapers, evoking the original album cover of Rhapsody in Blue.

With each of its design details, the Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to George Gershwin celebrates the unbridled talent and creative spirit of this musical genius. Available as a Piston Fountain Pen, a Rollerball and Ballpoint Pen, the edition comes in special gift box with three prints of Gershwin’s beloved Brooklyn Bridge.

Within the collection there is the Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to George Gershwin fountain pen that is priced at MYR3,275. There is also the Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to George Gershwin roller ball and Montblanc Donation Pen Homage to George Gershwin ballpoint, priced at MYR2,760 and MYR2,245 respectively.
