Introducing its second pen range for Bentley, Graf von Faber-Castell makes itself part of the year-long celebration of Bentley’s “100 Extraordinary Years” with the Limited Edition Centenary series.
Following the Graf von Faber-Castell for Bentley collection launched in September last year, the manufacturer of fine writing instruments now marks a new milestone in the shared journey of the two luxury brands since 2018 while commemorating Bentley’s 100 years of automobile history.
The Limited Edition Centenary series which consists of a fountain pen, a rollerball pen and a ballpoint pen draws inspiration from Bentley’s founder and soul, Walter Owen Bentley’s constant strive in building car that is “the best in its class”. Apart from featuring a sophisticated black colour to salute the elegant sports cars of the past, iconic Bentley elements are also incorporated, including the diamond-quilt pattern on the pen barrel, the distinctive knurling and the Bentley ‘B’ logo at the top of the cap encircled in a 24-carat gold coated ring.
Complementing the unmistakable Bentley DNA in this exquisite range is Graf von Faber-Castell’s sophisticated craftsmanship, with an anthracite-coloured PVD coating made of titanium covering all metal parts, the barrel and the nib of the fountain pen that underscores the brand’s signature clean, modern design.
The Graf von Faber-Castell Limited Edition Centenary pens were previewed here in Kuala Lumpur on the 10th of July 2019, the same day on which Bentley’s 100 year anniversary is celebrated, at the Bentley Kuala Lumpur showroom. The Bentley showroom was open to the public on the same day, where customers and fans of the British motoring brand could drop by and take a closer look at the special centenary edition merchandise and cars.
Earlier this year Bentley launched two special edition cars, the Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner inspired by W.O. Bentley’s last design for his company, and the Continental GT Number 9 Edition by Mulliner which pays homage to the celebrated marque’s motor racing history, each limited to a mere 100 pieces. Each of these rare units features a genuine piece from the original models that they are based upon, making each car a real part of history. In addition, every Bentley produced in 2019 is fitted with the Centenary Specification pack which features unique Centenary Gold badging and tread-plates, distinctive seat embroidery and other special details that mark the cars place in the brand’s century-long legacy. These Centenary Specification features are also subtly echoed by Graf von Faber-Castell in the Limited Edition Centenary series of writing instruments through the delicate details in the collection, making each pen remarkably unique and worth collecting.
The Graf von Faber-Castell Limited Edition Centenary pens will be available for purchase in all Faber-Castell stores, the Bentley showroom and at Czip Lee Bangsar from 1 August onwards.
