Balenciaga has launched a new chapter in its ongoing Art in Stores project, marking its latest collaboration with Italian supercar manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini. Starting 22 May 2025, exclusive artworks by German artist Yngve Holen are on display in selected Balenciaga flagship locations worldwide.
To commemorate the Balenciaga x Automobili Lamborghini partnership, Holen presents a striking sculptural installation featuring the Lamborghini Temerario, a symbol of modern automotive innovation. The works are displayed in store windows at key Balenciaga locations, including Avenue Montaigne (Paris), Via Montenapoleone (Milan), and New Bond Street (London).
The installation integrates industrial support structures, reminiscent of those used in vehicle assembly lines. Components of the Temerario’s body have been deconstructed and repurposed to resemble clothing patterns, drawing a parallel between the processes of garment construction and automotive design.
Known for his explorations of technology, materiality and the human body, Yngve Holen uses industrial materials and mechanical forms to evoke the presence — and absence — of the human figure. His sculptural language dissects the mechanisms that define and support contemporary life, from transport to fashion.
The collaboration reflects the shared design philosophies of both Balenciaga and Lamborghini: a commitment to cutting-edge engineering, bold silhouettes, and a relentless pursuit of performance, whether in fashion or on the road.
This latest Art in Stores edition underscores Balenciaga’s ongoing engagement with contemporary artists and the reimagining of retail spaces as cultural encounters. Through Holen’s work, visitors are offered a unique perspective on the synergy between machine and material, car and clothing, and form and function.
The installation is now open to the public for a limited period, inviting fashion and art enthusiasts to experience a bold fusion of automotive innovation and avant-garde sculpture at the heart of luxury retail.
