Celebration Picasso 1973-2023

Are you a great admirer of Picasso’s early paintings? The year 2023 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death. Thus, the year will represent a celebration of his work – The Picasso Celebration 1973-2023 and his artistic legacy in France, Spain, and internationally.

Supported by renowned cultural institutions in Europe and the United States, the program Picasso Celebration 1973-2023 will be structured around some fifty exhibitions and events that, as a whole, trace a historiographical approach to Picasso’s work. As one of the most important figures of modern art, his expressive, free, and multiform style continues to influence contemporary art and debate today.

Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now

“I create art for the healing of all mankind,” said Yayoi Kusama. Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama emerged as a global cultural icon for the twenty-first century by pursuing her uncompromising avant-garde vision. Kusama’s works have been hearted by millions offering glimpses of her personal aesthetic and core philosophy of life.

Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now is the largest retrospective of the artist in Asia outside Japan, featuring more than 200 works, including paintings to archival material. This exhibition narrates the story and creative explorations of Kusama’s life and works from the earliest drawings she made as a teenager during World War II to her most recent immersive art pieces.

“Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now” runs from Nov 12, 2022 to May 14, 2023 at the M+ museum, Hong Kong

The charm of an artistic work is in its impression and imagination, and yes, we are referring to the Girl With a Pearl Earring, the major painting of the 17th century. The painting is considered one of Johannes Vermeer’s masterpieces, which still holds an inimitable place among artworks to date.

Starting February 2023, a ginormous exhibition held in cooperation with the Mauritshuis in Den Haag is displaying 28 exclusive Vermeer paintings, including his luminous masterpiece for the first time in its history.

Vermeer runs from February 10 to June 4 at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam

Discover the rich history of Spanish culture and Hispanic art through 150 fascinating artworks from various artists, at the Royal Academy of Arts. The “Spain and the Hispanic World” exhibition is now inviting the public to engage in discussion and feature cross-cultural exchanges.

On display for the first time here in the UK, the exhibition presents an array of masterpieces by Greek Old Masters – El Greco, Giovanni Vespucci, Spanish Old Masters – Goya, and more.

Spain and the Hispanic World runs from January 21 to April 10 at The Royal Academy of Arts, London

Basquiat X Warhol. Painting 4 Hands

Between 1984 and 1985, American artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol created around 160 paintings together. This April, their early collaborations – a series of portraits of Basquiat by Warhol and of Warhol by Basquiat, will be showcasing through all of the galleries in the Fondation Louis Vuitton, featuring masterpieces such as the monumental sculpture Ten Punching Bags (Last Supper) or the African Mask.

The show will be the most important exhibition ever dedicated to this extraordinary body of work and will bring together more than three hundred works and documents jointly signed by the two artists. Furthermore, it featured individual works by other major artists, to evoke the energy of the New York downtown art scene of the 1980s.
