The Espace Louis Vuitton München presents “Resonance,” featuring works by Katinka Bock and Nick Mauss.
Espace Louis Vuitton München is presenting Resonance – an exclusive exhibition featuring German artist Katinka Bock and American artist Nick Mauss. The first collaborative show between the artists forms part of the Hors-les-murs programme, an international initiative of the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
This far, the programme has brought contemporary art to cities around the world, including Tokyo, Venice, Beijing, and Seoul. Resonance promises to captivate visitors by blending the practices of two artists whose works explore the intersections of material, space, and time.
Convergence Of Art

Nick Mauss is a multidisciplinary artist focusing on drawing, sculpture, performance, and more.
Although their practices diverge in technique and medium, Bock and Mauss share common ground in their exploration of historical, cultural, and social contexts. Bock’s sculptures, videos, and installations have long delved into the concept of “togetherness” a recurring theme in her work since the early 2000s.
Through the use of modest, often humble materials—such as sand, clay, wood, and metal—her creations reflect the fragility and resilience of coexistence. Each work is imbued with a sense of temporality, with materials chosen specifically for their physical properties.
In contrast, Mauss brings an expanding multidisciplinary approach to his work, which spans drawing, sculpture, performance, writing, and even curation. Known for his hybrid style, the American artist merges abstraction and figuration to create poetic, dreamlike images that evoke a state of perpetual indeterminacy. His work often blurs the boundaries between the artist, the work, and the viewer, inviting direct interaction with the art.
Creative Exploration

Bock uses modest materials such as clay, paper, stone, chalk, wood, water and metal in her art.
Through Resonance at Espace Louis Vuitton München, both artists invite viewers to consider the passage of time and the evolution of material in their works. Bock’s sculptures reference natural processes, while Mauss incorporates elements of art history and archival material to construct new narratives. Through their experimental approaches, both artists challenge conventional boundaries and offer immersive experiences that demand intellectual and sensory engagement.
The upcoming exhibition offers a unique opportunity to experience the synergy between two artists whose work, though distinct, shares an intrinsic dialogue with the space and the viewer. Resonance serves as a profound exploration of how materials, history, and space can intersect to create art that resonates deeply with its audience.
Resonance forms part of Louis Vuitton’s commitment to international cultural exchange, inviting art lovers to engage with cutting-edge contemporary art in a global context. The exhibition opens on 26 March 2025 at Espace Louis Vuitton München.
