The 25th edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) kicked off the New Year with a plethora of timepieces that continue to push the boundaries of perfection. In anticipation of its new Vasco da Gama horological collection, the house of Montblanc hosted an exclusive pre-SIHH journey to Cape Town, South Africa, to reveal firsthand the source of its inspiration as well as to honour the spirit of exploration, precision and discovery.
It might have been just over a year since the world lost Nelson Mandela but his spirit lives on, stronger than before. Montblanc pays tribute to the Nobel Laureate and former South African President’s incredible legacy via its support of the Power of Words film project, in partnership with the Tribeca Film Institute and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which ties the leader’s famous quotes to new narratives in a series of short films crafted by talented young filmmakers.
