For decades, Ferrari has defined the benchmark for high-performance sports cars. With the Luce, the marque enters a new era in the form of its first fully electric sports car — a project that represents far more than the introduction of a new powertrain. Instead, it is a fundamental rethinking of what a Ferrari can be, while remaining unmistakably true to the spirit of the Prancing Horse.
Presented in the symbolic setting of the Vela di Calatrava – Città dello Sport in Rome, the unveiling carries historical resonance for the marque. Ferrari achieved its first-ever victory in Rome in 1947, when the Ferrari 125 S claimed victory at the Gran Premio di Roma with Franco Cortese behind the wheel. Nearly eight decades later, the company returns to the Italian capital to reveal a project that once again seeks to redefine the limits of engineering, performance and design.

The Luce marks the culmination of Ferrari’s multi-energy strategy, first outlined during its 2022 Capital Markets Day. Guided by the principle of technological neutrality, electrification is approached not as a replacement for Ferrari’s celebrated engines, but as an additional avenue through which the marque can expand its capabilities in performance, architecture, design and driving experience.
‘Luce’, meaning ‘light’, reflects this philosophy. Electrification is treated as a tool, not a limitation — an opportunity to strip away distraction and refine the essence of Ferrari driving. It represents clarity of design, precision in engineering, and a focus on the driver experience that remains inherently Ferrari.
By deepening its in-house expertise in electric technology, Ferrari also opens new possibilities across its broader ecosystem. Knowledge transfer between road cars, the 499P endurance racer that triumphed in the World Endurance Championship, and ambitious projects such as Ferrari Hypersail allows innovation to flow across disciplines. In this way, Luce becomes not only a new model, but a platform for advancing performance and efficiency throughout the marque’s future programmes.
Design That Speaks Function

The design of the Ferrari Luce was entrusted to LoveFrom, the creative collective led by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson. Bringing in an external team alongside the Ferrari Design Studio under Flavio Manzoni introduced a fresh perspective and enabled the development of a new design language for the marque. LoveFrom was given the freedom to shape the project from its earliest stages, translating Ferrari’s core values into an entirely new architectural and experiential format.
The electric drivetrain, developed entirely by Ferrari, allows for a radically different vehicle architecture that combines performance with an unprecedented sense of spaciousness. For the first time in Ferrari history, Luce accommodates four doors and five seats — a configuration made possible by the flexibility of the electric platform. Yet despite these practical gains, the emphasis remains firmly on engagement, balance and driving pleasure.

The interior offers the clearest expression of this philosophy. Conceived as a single, continuous volume, the cabin feels calm, open and focused around the driver. Every component has been carefully simplified and rationalised in service of clarity and usability, creating an environment that feels modern yet timeless. The exterior, interior and interface all share a unified visual language, reinforcing a sense of cohesion throughout the experience.

Ferrari has developed hardware and software in tandem, ensuring that tactile controls and digital systems work harmoniously together. Key elements such as the binnacle, central console and control interfaces are arranged for intuitive operation, allowing the driver to remain fully connected to the car without unnecessary distraction.
Materials also play a defining role. The aluminium components are made from 100 per cent recycled material, precision-machined from solid billets using advanced CNC techniques before being anodised for durability and refinement. Glass surfaces utilise Corning® Fusion5® technology for enhanced clarity, strength and scratch resistance. Every detail is selected not only for performance, but for authenticity and tactile quality.
Innovation Rooted In Craftsmanship

Luce represents a synthesis of Ferrari’s heritage and a forward-looking design ethos. Every element is engineered with restraint and precision, demonstrating that the future of Ferrari is not simply electric, but purposeful. Technology, craftsmanship and design are brought together to create a driving experience that remains emotional, engaging and unmistakably Ferrari.
With Luce, Ferrari offers a glimpse into the next chapter of the Prancing Horse — one that embraces innovation without compromising identity. Bold yet refined, progressive yet rooted in tradition, Luce signals a future where electrification becomes another expression of Ferrari’s enduring pursuit of excellence.
