JOOLA Titans Tour 2026 Makes History with Highest Pickleball Match At Merdeka 118

A record-breaking match on top the tallest building in Asia.

The JOOLA Titans Tour 2026 concluded its Kuala Lumpur stop with a defining moment at Merdeka 118. Andre Agassi and Ben Johns headlined the highest pickleball match ever staged inside a building at Level 118. The match now holds official recognition from Guinness World Records, establishing a new global benchmark for pickleball worldwide.

Beyond the record setting spectacle, the two day event drew approximately 2,000 spectators to Stadium Juara in Kuala Lumpur. The programme delivered high energy competition alongside immersive fan engagement, creating an atmosphere that balanced sporting excellence with accessibility. This Kuala Lumpur leg reinforced Malaysia’s position as one of Asia’s fastest growing pickleball markets with strong international appeal.

Held in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, the  JOOLA Titans Tour event supported the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign across global audiences. The tour positioned Malaysia as a compelling destination for international sporting events while highlighting its infrastructure and cultural vibrancy. The inclusion of Merdeka 118 strengthened the city’s global image, presenting Kuala Lumpur as a destination capable of hosting landmark experiences.

At the centre of the showcase, Team Agassi faced Team Ben Johns in a specially curated competitive match format. The lineup featured leading international players alongside rising Asia Pacific talents, creating a layered competitive environment with global representation. Players including Collin Johns, Anna Bright, Tyson McGuffin, and Brooke Buckner contributed to a dynamic and engaging match experience.

The programme unfolded through women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles matches, building momentum across each segment. It culminated in a high intensity Dreambreaker finale where players rotated continuously in a race to 18 points. This format sustained energy and unpredictability, delivering a dramatic conclusion that captured audience attention until the final rally moment.

As night fell, Merdeka 118 transformed into a visual landmark through synchronised lights, drones, and pyrotechnic displays. The skyline became an immersive spectacle that extended the event beyond sport, drawing widespread attention across Kuala Lumpur city. This moment positioned the event as a cultural experience, blending entertainment, architecture, and sport into a unified public celebration.

Earlier at Stadium Juara, the tour delivered a festival style programme that brought audiences closer to the sport. Interactive fan segments included hit for a prize challenges alongside on court appearances that encouraged participation and engagement. A highlight saw Andre Agassi and Brooke Buckner join a fan challenge, creating memorable moments that resonated strongly with audiences.

Malaysian sporting icons Nicol David and Mirnawan Nawawi also appeared, drawing some of the loudest reactions during the event. Their presence added local significance, connecting Malaysia’s sporting legacy with the growing international influence of pickleball across Asia. This crossover moment reinforced the event’s cultural relevance while celebrating both heritage and contemporary sporting movements within the same platform.

Community engagement played a central role, with players participating in coaching sessions and meet and greet activations. These initiatives reached audiences across Klang Valley, supporting grassroots development while strengthening connections between athletes and local communities. The approach reflects JOOLA’s long term commitment to growing pickleball through inclusive and accessible experiences at every level.

Following its record breaking Kuala Lumpur stop, the tour continues to Beijing, expanding its influence across Asia. This progression reinforces the tour’s role in shaping pickleball’s future, positioning it as both competitive sport and cultural platform. It also highlights the growing global appeal of pickleball, supported by strategic collaborations and increasingly ambitious event formats worldwide.
