Diageo has introduced Horizons Unbound, its 2025 Special Releases Scotch whisky collection in Malaysia. The special collection serves as an ambitious, design-led exploration of flavour, form and imagination. This limited-edition series brings together eight distinctive single malts, each reinterpreted through unconventional cask finishes that challenge tradition while honouring heritage.
Created for collectors and connoisseurs, the collection invites Malaysia’s whisky community to experience revered distilleries from a new, sensorial perspective. Each expression is conceived as both a liquid and narrative object—layered, evocative, and crafted to inspire discovery.
Craftsmanship Meets Creative Expression
Curated under the direction of Dr. Stuart Morrison, Horizons Unbound balances technical mastery with artistic storytelling. Two standout releases anchor the collection.
The Teaninich 8 Year Old ‘Daring Rye’ is a distillery-first experiment, shaped by rye cask influence to reveal vibrant spice and a contemporary edge—an unconventional expression that redefines Highland character. In contrast, the Dailuaine 21 Year Old ‘Marbled Treasures’ offers a study in opulence, matured in Spanish ex-sherry casks to deliver layered notes of dried fruit, baked apple and warm spice, wrapped in a velvety texture.
Across the collection, innovation takes centre stage. From mezcal-finished expressions to casks treated with volcanic rock heat, each whisky pushes the boundaries of what Scotch can be—transforming familiar profiles into bold, multi-dimensional experiences.

Marking a significant milestone, the 2025 Horizons Unbound edition will be the final release of Diageo’s Special Releases collection available in Malaysia. Only 200 complete sets will be offered locally, underscoring its rarity and collectability.
Distributed exclusively through Cellar Eighteen, the collection represents both a closing chapter and a lasting legacy—an opportunity for collectors to acquire a definitive piece of whisky history.
