Cartier presents refined reinterpretations of two emblematic leather silhouettes, emphasising how jewellery design can reshape everyday accessories into sculptural creations. With careful design and artisanal mastery, the Maison turns practical pieces into refined expressions of innovation and heritage. These creative variations celebrate Cartier’s enduring dialogue between leatherwork mastery and the graphic purity long associated with its jewellery universe.
Born from collaboration between archivists, designers, and leather artisans, the project reflects a shared exploration of the Maison’s distinctive design language. Drawing from archival references and jewellery codes, the exploration reinterprets tradition through modern leather craftsmanship and sculptural design. The pieces embody Cartier’s hallmark blend of sculptural purity, precise lines, and subtle sophistication, crafted for the rhythms of modern life.
The Panthère C Bag

First unveiled in 2021, the Panthère C bag pays homage to the Maison’s celebrated panther motif and the legacy of creative director Jeanne Toussaint. In this new evening edition, the iconic panther-head clasp transforms into a graceful spiral, wrapping the handle with jewellery-like elegance. Crafted from gold-plated metal, the sculptural handle becomes a striking decorative feature, transforming the bag into a wearable object of artistic expression.
This bold graphic gesture reflects Cartier’s jewellery heritage, where fluid lines, precise geometry and sculptural forms are carefully balanced for visual harmony. Minimal and refined, the shape allows the contrast between metal and leather to speak with understated elegance.Such subtlety reflects Cartier’s enduring commitment to clean lines and classic sophistication, central to its design heritage.
Crafted with precision in Cartier’s Italian leather workshops, the piece embodies the Maison’s decades of artisanal savoir-faire. Deep black leather forms the foundation of the piece, chosen for its richness, durability and ability to complement luminous metallic elements. Delicate surface undulations produce a soft, crinkled effect, reflecting light and enhancing the design’s visual flow.
The C de Cartier Bag

Launched in 2020, the C de Cartier bag takes inspiration from the Maison’s historic monogram, featuring two elegantly intertwined capitals. This distinctive double C motif first appeared in 1921, establishing a graphic identity that continues to symbolise Cartier’s legacy today. Defined by a clear, balanced silhouette, the bag mirrors the refined, methodical design that shapes the Maison’s jewellery collections.
In this version, the emblematic clasp becomes more sculptural, with a delicate chain lending fluidity and decorative elegance. The sculptural logo appears faceted like a diamond, its polished metal surfaces reflecting light with striking clarity and dimensional depth. This sparkling effect pays homage to Cartier’s jewellery codes, in which light remains integral to design.
Cartier extends this concept further through black leather embossed with a geometric pattern that reproduces the faceted structure of a diamond. Achieved through refined hot-embossing and dual moulding, the design renders a sculpted, three-dimensional effect on the leather. Together, these thoughtful details reaffirm Cartier’s ability to unite technical innovation, heritage craftsmanship and artistic vision within its most iconic designs.
