Singapore recently played host to the Asian premiere of UBS House of Craft x Dior, a multi-day exhibition celebrating the artistry and legacy of Dior’s seven creative directors over the past eight decades. Curated by Carine Roitfeld and conceived by acclaimed artist Brigitte Niedermair, the exhibition offered Singaporean audiences an unprecedented glimpse into the Maison’s rich heritage, featuring archival gowns, sketches, and visual references displayed in Asia for the first time.

UBS House of Craft x Dior – Behind the Scenes
The showcase combined fashion, photography, and immersive experiences, highlighting Dior’s evolution under the creative stewardship of Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, Maria Grazia Chiuri, and a special tribute to Kim Jones, the current visionary shaping the House’s legacy across Women’s, Men’s, and Haute Couture collections. Five previously unseen photographs by Niedermair and a dedicated room celebrating Dior’s iconic sketches and silhouettes offered a rare insight into the creative foundations of the Maison, including references to Singapore — encouraging the dialogue between Dior and the region.
Reflections on Craftsmanship and Connection
Beyond its visual splendour, the Singapore edition featured exclusive programming that brought visitors closer to the art of couture. Intimate conversations, panels, and live demonstrations allowed audiences to engage directly with masters of craft, including Roitfeld, Niedermair, and artisans from Dior Atelier. Highlights included Framing Fashion: Brigitte Niedermair on Couture and Culture, which explored fashion photography’s ability to transform couture into a fundamental expression of identity and femininity, and elevated by The Craft of Couture, a panel where Dior’s leading ateliers shared insights into their techniques, traditions, and innovations.
