If you’ve ever heard a Devialet speaker in action, you’ll know it’s not just about listening, it’s about feeling the music. Now, the French audio pioneer has taken things to the next level with the arrival of the Phantom Ultimate in Malaysia. Think jaw-dropping design, next-level tech, and sound so pure it gives you goosebumps.
The original Phantom, launched back in 2015, was already a game-changer in the world of high-end speakers. It looked like nothing else and sounded like nothing else and now, ten years and over 250 patents later, Phantom Ultimate is here to continue the legacy.
Sound, Refined
Designed and built in Paris, the new models offer serious upgrades. The range includes the Phantom Ultimate 98 dB and the more powerful 108 dB version. Both pack in Devialet’s signature innovations like ADH® (Analog Digital Hybrid) amplification, which combines the warmth of analogue with the punch of digital.
The result of this is crystal-clear highs, rich mids, and bass so deep you don’t just hear it — you feel it. That said, Phantom Ultimate doesn’t just sound incredible, it looks the part too. Sleek, sculptural, and unlike anything else on the market, it now comes in two new finishes: Deep Forest: a rich, dark green with glossy black chrome touches and Light Pearl: soft, matte, and quietly luxurious.
And if you’re really looking to make a statement, the Opéra de Paris edition is hand-gilded with 22-carat gold by French artisans — the same ones who work on the Palais Garnier opera house.
Versatility At Its Best
But the real magic happens when you press play. Thanks to a reworked internal architecture and new processor, the Phantom Ultimate delivers a wider soundstage, improved detail, and dynamic range that makes everything from podcasts to full orchestras feel alive.
For the digitally connected, the speakers support fan-favourite streaming platforms like AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Google Cast, and Roon Ready, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless wireless listening.
Control has also had a makeover, with the refreshed Devialet app offering custom sound modes (Music, Podcast, and Cinema), a 6-band equaliser, and new features like Bass Reducer and Loudness control. Whether you’re setting the mood for a dinner party or diving into a solo listening session, the app makes it easy to tailor the experience.
As for pricing, the Phantom Ultimate 98 dB comes in at RM8,090, while the 108 dB model is priced at RM17,990. The Opéra de Paris editions will set you back RM9,990 and RM20,990, respectively, but for that level of craftsmanship and sonic performance, it’s a fair trade.
