Miu Miu Summer Reads 2025

In a poetic meeting of couture and culture, Miu Miu unveils the second edition of its Summer Reads series – an open-air literary celebration set to unfold in some of the world’s most evocative urban gardens. From the manicured lawns of Paris’s Bibliothèque nationale to the verdant charm of Chaoyang Park in Beijing, the Italian maison reimagines public space as a sanctuary for reflection and reading.

Taking place on 27th and 28th June in Beijing, Hong Kong, Milan, and Paris, and on 28th and 29th June in Osaka, Summer Reads 2025 brings literature to life through a multisensory experience rooted in femininity, intellect, and design. Each city will boast a distinct colour theme and its own ex-libris motif – a subtle homage to the power and personal intimacy of books. These pop-up literary lounges are free and open to the public.

At the heart of this season’s programme are two women writers who redefined the literary canon: France’s Simone de Beauvoir and Japan’s Fumiko Enchi. Guests are invited to linger with one of two seminal works – The Inseparables or The Waiting Years – presented in limited-edition formats adorned with Miu Miu-designed dust jackets, bookmarks, reading clips, and collectable stamps.

These curated editions act as objets d’art in their own right – tactile symbols of the maison’s ongoing investment in contemporary thought and timeless storytelling.

De Beauvoir, whose existentialist oeuvre shaped post-war feminism, is celebrated here through her intimate novel The Inseparables, a tender homage to a lost childhood friend. Enchi, equally radical in her explorations of gender and tradition, is represented through The Waiting Years, a haunting narrative steeped in the quiet despair of Japanese domestic life at the turn of the century.

In championing these literary voices, Miu Miu not only affirms its place at the nexus of style and intellect, but also invites a global audience to slow down, turn a page, and share in a collective act of stillness – all under the open sky.
