IWC Schaffhausen’s New Portofino Laureus Edition Continues To Support Sporting Causes

The 17th edition timepiece will benefit Figure Skating in Harlem

IWC Portofino Laureus

In a compelling fusion of Swiss horological excellence and heartfelt philanthropy, IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled the Portofino Automatic Pointer Date Laureus—its 17th special edition timepiece in support of Laureus Sport for Good. The elegant dress watch embodies IWC’s enduring commitment to making a tangible impact in the lives of disadvantaged young people across the globe.

This year’s edition marks a significant dual celebration: the 25th anniversary of Laureus Sport for Good and two decades of collaboration between the foundation and IWC. The chosen beneficiary for 2025 is Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH)—a pioneering New York-based programme empowering girls of colour through a unique combination of academic support, leadership development, and the artistic discipline of figure skating.

Sporting Style

Encased in polished 39-millimetre stainless steel, the Portofino Automatic Pointer Date Laureus (Ref. IW359202) features a sunray-finished dial in Laureus’ signature blue hue. The rhodium-plated hands, indices, and Roman numeral XII exude understated sophistication, while the refined pointer date display at 6 o’clock adds a touch of vintage charm to this contemporary classic.

Housed within is the automatic 35160 calibre, offering a 50-hour power reserve. A rich blue calfskin strap, secured with a stainless-steel butterfly folding clasp, completes the watch’s timeless aesthetic. A tribute to both beauty and purpose, the timepiece’s case back is engraved with the Laureus Sport for Good logo and commemorates the foundation’s milestone 25th anniversary.

“This limited edition captures both exceptional craftsmanship and the spirit of empowerment. It is a celebration of the incredible young women of Figure Skating in Harlem and the values we share,” notes Katarina Witt—two-time Olympic gold medallist and Laureus World Sports Academy Member.

Sporting Causes

Founded in 2000, Laureus Sport for Good has positively influenced the lives of over seven million young people through sport-driven programmes that combat violence, discrimination, and inequality. Today, it supports more than 300 initiatives in over 40 countries.

IWC, a Global Partner since 2005, continues to play an instrumental role in amplifying this mission—leveraging its prestigious platform to tell meaningful stories through limited edition timepieces. Figure Skating in Harlem, founded in 1997 by Sharon Cohen, serves over 200 girls annually and boasts a network of 1,500 alumnae.

Its award-winning model blends education with athleticism, instilling in its participants the confidence, discipline, and life skills needed to succeed. The Portofino Automatic Pointer Date Laureus is more than a timepiece—it’s a symbol of transformation, representing what can be achieved when craftsmanship meets cause.
