Three mobile gaming applications that will bring back some nostalgic value. Put some nostalgia in your pocket with these apps.
01: SPACE INVADERS INFINITY GENE
The game’s core mechanics (shooting aliens that slowly but steadily advance down the screen) and sparse graphics make a comeback, but with four new modes of gameplay to help keep things fresh, including more dynamic alien movements, ship and ability upgrades, as well as a music-driven option.
02: HARD LINES
Nokia’s tenacious 3310 is back, complete with the addictive Snake, but those who want to experience the reflex-testing game again, without having to buy the not-so-smart phone, can download Hard Lines instead. “Snake Mode” promises the exact gameplay as the original, but it’s the five other modes that will keep players new and old hooked.
03: PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION 2
This classic remake proves just how much more a retro formula can offer with today’s ideas and technology. The music is frantic, the graphics gloriously explosive and the challenges numerous and customizable. For a less feature-packed game that’s more reminiscent of the original, check out the prequel, Pac-Man Championship Edition.
