The Third Chapter Of The Dalmore Luminary Series Blends Whisky With Architecture

The new whisky marks a collaboration with Foster + Partners’ Ben Dobbin.

The Dalmore Highland Single Malt has unveiled the third chapter of its prestigious Luminary Series. The extraordinary new edition was created in partnership with architect Ben Dobbin, Senior Partner at renowned firm Foster + Partners.

At its official unveil in Venice, The Dalmore showcased a unique fusion of whisky-making mastery and architectural innovation. The Dalmore Luminary 2025 Edition – The Rare is an exceptionally rare 52-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, presented in a specially crafted decanter and housed within a striking bronze sculpture designed by Dobbin.

Known for his work on Apple Park and the revitalisation of San Francisco’s Transamerica Pyramid, Dobbin brings a bold, design-forward approach to the series, with a piece inspired by the principles of tensegrity – creating a sense of the whisky being suspended in time.

This limited-edition release has been created in collaboration with V&A Dundee, Scotland’s design museum, further strengthening The Dalmore’s ongoing commitment to celebrating creativity across disciplines.

The sculpture features asymmetrical waves and rods, carefully engineered to reflect flow, precision, and balance – qualities Dobbin shares with The Dalmore’s master whisky makers, Richard Paterson OBE and Gregg Glass.

“The partnership has been an authentic, creative process,” said Dobbin. “Visiting The Dalmore’s distillery and engaging with the team profoundly influenced my design. We explored materiality, sense of place, and the timeless nature of both architecture and whisky.”

The whisky itself is a showcase of The Dalmore’s rich heritage and innovation, with flavours and aromas inspired by Dobbin’s own preferences. Crafted with exacting attention to detail, it stands as a testament to the enduring artistry of Scotch whisky making.
