With its strong ties to the world of golf, CIMB knows there is more to the game than just a recreational sport. Golf is a platform that CIMB is highly familiar with, having hosted the prestigious CIMB Classic in the past. As golf continues to serve as a great avenue for relationship building and entertainment, it remains a well-loved sporting event deeply appreciated by CIMB clients.
For CIMB, the time is right to return to the golfing green and its roots of hosting prestigious golfing events, but this time, they did so in a more intimate setting. The top 20 finalists from each round went on to compete at the Grand Finals, which took place at the prestigious Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club on 16 November.
The format of the game was the popular Texas Scramble System 36, with each team choosing their best drive from which to hit their next shot and continuing to do so until they scored the hole. There were also the on-course contests of Nearest-to-Pin, Longest Drive and Nearest-to-Line.
Designed for both men and women players, the qualifying rounds had main prizes of Rimowa luggage bags and Braun Buffel bags. The finals included a grand prize of a 5-day/4-night Tochigi-Tokyo-Ibaraki Golf Escape and a roundtrip business class air travel from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo with four rounds of 18-hole golf.
The second prize was a 15-inch Macbook Air and the third prize was a Bowers and Wilkins Panorama 3 soundbar, while the hole-in-ones were a Panerai Luminor Regatta Chrono flyback and a Land Rover Range Rover Velar.
