Our Baselworld Favourites from Patek Philippe, Maurice Lacroix and Rado
Patek Philippe Ladies’ World Time Ref. 7130G
Attention to all ladies on their way to world domination, Patek Philippe has just released the perfect partner to accompany you on your quest. The Ladies’ World Time Ref. 7130G is a ravishing white gold watch that indicates all 24 time zones around the grey-blue hand-guillochéd dial centre. A final delightful touch to the mechanical self-winding timepiece is a bezel set with 62 diamonds.
Maurice Lacroix  Masterpiece Moon Retrograde
Maurice Lacroix’s Masterpiece Moon Retrograde will have you coming back for a second look as the collection makes its return this year after its first release in 2000. Combining the moon phase and retrograde complications into a singular timepiece, the automatic manufacture movement ML192 is simply phenomenal, with 344 components inside a 43mm steel case. While the movement is impressive, the dial is no less spectacular, featuring a Côtes de Genève motif or a vertically brushed effect. An added delight is the reflective moon figure on the moon phase function: gaze at the watch long enough and you just might catch your own eye.
Rado HyperChrome Captain Cook
Joining in the seemingly ubiquitous theme of retro revival this Baselworld is Rado, with the relaunch of its Captain Cook collection. Reviving its timepiece from the 1960s, the new HyperChrome Captain Cook borrows the design cues of its ancestor with oversized indices, chunky arrow-shaped hands, rotating bezel in high-tech ceramic and a vintage bezel. The collectors automatic movement timepiece is limited to 1,962 pieces in honour of the original model released in the numerically similar year of 1962.
