The “Jom Lah Makan” buffet is here to take you on a culinary journey through Kuala Lumpur’s iconic distinct streets. Presented by Chef De Cuisine Afiq Matkhir and his team, diners are in for a treat at The Resort Café at Sunway Resort every Friday and Saturday night. Featuring local dishes, snacks and desserts, get ready to tantalise your tastebuds and indulge in a variety of local flavours all in one buffet spread.
Beginning your journey at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Alor comes alive every night with the sound and aroma of hawker stalls cooking local Chinese cuisine. A must-visit heaven for food lovers and tourists, diners can find dishes such as Wok-Fried Kam Heong Bamboo Clam, Live Wok-Fried Mud Crabs with Chilli Sauce; Wok-Fried Eggs with Oyster and home-made Dim Sum on the buffet spread.
In the midst of the modern city, the buffet unravels the secrets of Kampung Baru, which continues to maintain its Malay traditions. The Chefs have meticulously prepared local favourites such as the Nasi Lemak Pandan with classic condiments, Grilled Marinated Chicken with Honeyed Chilli paste, Grilled Squid with Sambal and Blue River Prawn in Turmeric Curry with Pineapple.
Continuing the trip to Brickfields, also known as “Little India”, Indian food enthusiasts can indulge in scrumptious dishes and explosions of spice. All the way from the vibrant neighbourhood, diners can expect Snapper Fish Head Curry with Okra and Tomatoes, Stir-Fried Mutton Varuval with Spicy Masala and Dried Chilli, Crispy Masala Chicken, Raita, Papadam and a variety of Chutney and Pickle; Mango Raisin Chutney, Mint Chutney; Lime Pickle, Mango Pickle and Mixed Vegetable Pickle.
The hotel team has also curated a specially designed entertainment zone for children, with activities and games, giving guests and families the chance to create unforgettable memories whilst dining at the restaurant. Entertainment includes a two-piece band with a vocalist and keyboardist; a balloonist and a caricature drawing for children with a Malaysian background theme.
