It seems American motorsports tuning house Hennessey’s decision to showcase two of its latest Venom F5 hypercars, one in the Mojave Gold hue seen here, and the other in Speed Devil Blue during the recent Monterey Car Week at California’s famed Laguna Seca Speedway just on August 15 worked wonders as this helped it sell out its stocks for the whole year!
So much for the American economy being in the dumps because of the pandemic then… eh?
Company founder and CEO John Hennessey revealed that the sold-out status is “just the beginning of our journey,” which will also likely include a top speed record attempt at some point in the future. He also mentioned that Hennessey is apparently working on “something else that’s literally out of this world.”
The use of the word “literally” is quite baffling, unless, of course, if the Venom F5 will also be doing something quite spectacular as well for the tenth film in the Fast and Furious franchise, coming out April 7, 2023, and set to star hypercar as a key member of the film’s cast!
Meanwhile, the “regular” variant is targeting to hit an amazing 500 km/h in the above-mentioned top speed record soon, courtesy of its twin-turbo V8 6.6-litre LS-derived engine dubbed “Fury” and making 1,817 horsepower and a mid-boggling 1,617 Nm of torque! The car weighs only 1,360 kilograms, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 1.34 hp per kilogram, which Hennessey says is the highest of any road-legal vehicle ever!
It’s just a wonder how they keep the darn thing planted on the ground in the first place when it’s speeding off into the sunset.
