Charles Frump took over from Balin Jain who served as Managing Director from 2019-2020. Frump will continue with Volvo’s overall operation and driving Volvo’s electrification vision in Malaysia.
Frump joins Volvo Car Malaysia from Volvo Car India, where he had been serving as Managing Director since 2017 and played an instrumental role in accelerating the growth of Volvo’s market share and earnings in India’s competitive luxury car segment.
Charles Frump, newly-appointed Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, said: “I am excited to embark on a new chapter of my journey with Volvo in a new market. I see Malaysia as a crossroad of the places I have been in the past, and I look forward to working closely with the local team, individual by individual, to build our strengths.”
Frump’s appointment follows Volvo’s global announcement of becoming a fully electric car company by 2030. PHEV line-up for all car models. As the company continues to strive towards a more sustainable future, Frump will also play a key Manifesting its commitment to sustainability and electrification in Malaysia, Volvo Car Malaysia fully electrified its fleet in February with the launch of the XC40 PHEV and became the first automotive brand in the country to have a complete part in spearheading Volvo Car Malaysia as the leader in premium electric vehicles in Malaysia.
