Montblanc has a bold step into the luxury wearables sector with the introduction of the new the Summit 2+, its first luxury smartwatch to boasts 4G LTE connectivity.
Using an electronic SIM card or eSIM, the new Summit 2+ is able to do so much more than just tell the time. Among its added capabilities is the ability to make or receive calls from a connected smartphone as well as read messages thanks to its built-in speaker. This essentially allows the wearer to stay connected at all times even when they are away from their smartphone.
With the help of Google Assistant, daily tasks can be managed on the go. All notifications – including incoming calls, messages, social media updates and calendar events – are directly synched to the Summit 2+.

Traditional watch lovers will be pleased to note that even though the Summit 2+ appears like a normal modern smartwatch, it still carries that distinctive Montblanc design that is inspired by the Montblanc 1858 collection.
Featuring a 1.28-inch AMOLED screen encased within a 43.5mm pure steel case, Montblanc gives users a dizzying array of customisation options with the built-in watch face configurator. Users are able to choose from thousands of watch face combinations as well as customising indicators, background, hands and complications for a sophisticated watch face.
Users can also choose from different case finishes such as black DLC steel, stainless steel, rose gold coloured and bronze coloured steel. All of these can be combined with a variety of interchangeable strap options to allow customers to find their own style. Each timepiece is fitted with a rotating crown and two additional programmable pushers.
For busy jet setting executives, there is the Timeshifter app that provides personalised advice to minimise jet lag based on the user’s sleep pattern, chronotype and flight plan. The app also provides timely updates and instructions directly on the Summit 2+ watch face, helping travellers to adjust fast to a new time zone.
Another incredibly useful tool included with the Summit 2+ is the Travel Info app which provides relevant local traveller information and a voice-activated translator that translates multitudes of languages directly to the watch’s display.
For the outdoor adventurer, the Summit 2+ includes a variety of sensors to track their activity. This includes a speedometer, altimeter, barometer, compass and GPS. Adding to that, the integrated GPS allows navigation and more precise fitness tracking when away from the phone.
Those aiming to reach new heights of fitness and wellbeing will be pleased to know that there is a refined workout coach with V02max, a smart virtual fitness assistant that recommends personalised exercises and adjusts to the user’s physical needs.
Thanks to the always-on colour ambient mode, the watch faces visible at all times while delivering a full day of battery life. The battery life can be extended by an additional 3 – 5 days by deactivating smartwatch functionality while still showing the time at a flick of the wrist.
According to Montblanc, the Summit 2+ will retail for USD1,170 (MYR5,025) and will be available at Montblanc boutiques worldwide and online.
