Celebrating Young, Dynamic Personalities At The Peak Latest Mavericks Event

The shiny new Stonor 3 residential tower was the venue of choice for The Peak’s most recent edition of the Mavericks event, which took place on the 26th of November. First held earlier in the year, The Peak Mavericks aims to celebrate and bring together some of Malaysia’s young and dynamic movers and shakers from the corporate world. The event also served as a celebration for the completion of Kuala Lumpur’s most recent Japanese-themed development of Stonor 3, which is a joint project between Malaysia’s Tan & Tan Development Berhad and Japan’s largest real estate developer, Mitsubishi Jisho Residence Co. Ltd.

The event saw the attendance of Dato’ Seri Robert Tan of IGB Berhad, as well as Derrick Tan of Sungei Wang, Raffles Racing’s Kyan Yap, Ho Ching Wee of Infinitium Group, Emir Shafri of Publicis Malaysia and Shin Tseng, architect and co-founder of REXKL, among other young corporate leaders.

The guest list of some 100 people, half from The Peak and the other from Tan & Tan Development, were welcomed at the Stonor 3 ground-floor resident’s lounge, with its impressive decor and striking statement sculpture, where they enjoyed cocktails inspired by Japanese flavours employing sake and yuzu. It was there that Tan Boon Lee, representing Tan & Tan Developments, and Jiro Mearashi of Mitsubishi Estate Asia, kicked off the night with hits on the Japanese taiko drum. The crowd was then treated to a rousing performance on the traditional drums, before heading up to the pool lounge to properly start of the event.

Mindy Teh, Editor-In-Chief of The Peak welcomed the guests in her speech, saying “Many people have asked me why we name this event series as ‘Mavericks’ and we named it for Senator John McCain. He was fearless and a true maverick. Our Mavericks events honour people like you. People who think, who lead differently and who dare to go off the beaten track. All of you are dynamic and you are disruptors who make a difference in this country.”

After networking and lively conversation fuelled by a delectable buffet spread of Japanese food and smooth alcohol, The Peak’s guests were treated to an exclusive tour of two units available in the building.
