just a bit larger…

At one point in time, the Porsche Cayenne was unrivalled in its class as a luxury SUV born of racing DNA. These days Maserati has one, Lamborghini has one and now there are even rumours that a Ferrari SUV might be making its debut sooner than expected.

Unphased by the competition, Sime Darby Auto Performance has just unveiled Porsche’s third and latest generation of the Cayenne here in Malaysia; a new luxury SUV that promises a new engine, new chassis and an innovative control concept.

Performance and comfort remain the focus for this new Cayenne, extending well beyond the tarmac to encompass off-road usability as well. The SUV is 65 kilograms lighter even with all the new features added to it; and considering the chassis is paired with a powerful 3.0 litre turbo engine and 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox we’re predicting that the SUV will be heaps of fun to drive.

The best part about the car is, that Porsche says they have designed the new Cayenne based heavily on the iconic 911; meaning for the first time this SUV features rear axle steering and even offer racing-based features such as PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control) electronic stabilization and high-performance racing brakes.

The only downside about all of this is that the new Porsche Cayenne only reaches Malaysian shores sometime in the the 3rd Quarter of this year so until then, I guess you could fill up your time with the other Porsche toys available with their attractive financing package.
