The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Just Got A Lot More Desirable

Precious time.

As if the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona wasn’t already rare enough, the brand is introducing one with an 18K Everose gold case with 56 brilliantcut diamonds, and a bezel paved with 36 baguette-cut sapphires in a rainbow gradation. Of course, the dial is not forgotten, with 11 baguette-cut sapphires as indices, with the exception of 12 o’clock, which is reserved for the emblematic Rolex crown.

When the Daytona with the Cerachrom ceramic bezel was launched two years ago, it was an instant hit and waitlists all over the world started growing longer and longer. We think history is destined to repeat itself with this new diamond- and sapphirecrusted version.

Despite all its glitz and glamour, this Daytona is still very much a robust and functional wristwatch. The Oyster case is waterproof to 100m and the winding crown and pushers are fitted with a Triplock triple waterproofness system. The movement is Rolex’s in-house Calibre 4130, which offers a chronograph function with a reduced number of components for reliability. The watch also comes equipped with a blue Parachrom hairspring, which is a paramagnetic alloy manufactured by the brand.

As with all of today’s Rolex watches, the Cosmograph Daytona is also Superlative Chronometer certified. This means that after COSC Chronometer testing on the movement, Rolex then cases it and test it once again, adjusting the precision rate to a -2/+2 second deviation per day.
