THE RENNSPORT TOUCH

A fleet of brand new, customised Porsche 911 GT2 RS cars flying out of the paddocks of the Sepang International Circuit is a sight to behold, even more so at night! Each and every one of those 911 GT2 RS sportscars zooming past was just delivered to their rightful owners and this was their maiden drive. The feeling, even for the lucky owner who plonked down a minimum of MYR2,900,000 (without road tax and insurance), is priceless.

While we didn’t get to sit behind the wheel of the new 911 GT2 RS, we can already tell you this car is an absolute beast. The engine is a biturbo flat six with 700 horses and, with a total weight of only 1,470kg (which can still be reduced a further 30kg with a special Weissach package), it sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 340km/h. It is no wonder then that Porsche is calling this the fastest 911 ever built.

The limited edition Porsche Design watch will only be available to owners of the 911 GT2 RS.

Of course, with the larger turbo chargers, Porsche had to develop a new cooling system and fit it with a new customised seven-speed double clutch transmission (PDK). What sportscar would be complete without its accompanying soundtrack and, we have to say, the newly developed independent exhaust system with a titanium rear silencer still sings a song that will stir your emotions.

For owners of this very incredible car and only for the owners, Porsche Design offers an accompanying special-issue chronograph mechanical watch which can be ordered at the Porsche Centre.
