The Lexus RX Is Ready To Lead The Luxury SUV Segment to New Heights

Lexus brings its class-leading RX SUV into Malaysia.

Lexus RX has an unmistakable design and presence as it was one of the pioneers of the luxury SUV segment back in 1998. Now some 20 years later, Lexus has launched its new RX series after its global reveal four months ago.

Now, the new  RX comes in three different variants: the RX300 Premium, RX300 Luxury and RX300 F SPORT, all of which differ in both pricing and features.

Across the board, the newly sculpted front and rear bumper designs help elevate the dynamic appearance of the new RX. The slimmer LED headlamps incorporate Lexus’ World First Adaptive Highbeam System (AHS) with Bladescan technology that allows the driver to maintain high beam mode without blinding on-coming vehicles.

The bumpers on the new RX have some minor changes with the repositioning of the fog lamps in the lower corners. Even the rear LED taillights also get a new L-shape motif that indirectly acts as a subtle nod to the Lexus brand.

Those opting for the top-of-the-line RX300 F SPORTwill gain a more aggressive face with a prominent criss-cross grille mesh pattern. Meanwhile, the RX300 Premium and RX300 Luxury both have slimmer bumpers and an “L” shaped motif on the mesh.

In terms of features, both the RX300 Luxury and RX300 F SPORT gain a hands-free power back door, which has sensors underneath the rear bumper that allows you to open and close the rear hatch with a simple kicking motion.

Other conveniences afforded to the RX300 Luxury and RX300 F SPORT include wireless charging tray that works with Qi-compatible smartphones and a bigger 12.3-inch wide touchscreen display (as compared to the 8-inch touchscreen for the RX300 Premium). Enjoy smart connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity that allows you to use dedicated smartphone functions via the dashboard touchscreen display.

Underneath the hood, all three variants come powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 235hp and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

To help add to your peace of mind when taking a long journey, the RX is updated with the latest generation LSS+ that come with all the bells and whistles to keep you safe on the road. This includes a Pre-Collision System, Lane Tracing Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go function.
