Why we’re Spending the Festive Season at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

‘Tis the season to be jolly indeed at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong reveals the Mandarin Suite Celebration Package for the festive season and we look at 5 reasons why we’re headed there.

01 A Warm Welcome

It’s easy enough to be awed by the rich gold and black marble interiors of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong’s lobby- especially considering the precious artifacts and stunning murals. However, the hotel takes things a step above this festive season as guests are welcomed with traditional mulled wines, mince pies and roasted chestnuts in the lobby. Oh, let’s not forget the Christmas tree towering majestically in the lobby as well!

02 The Suite Life

The festive stay starts with good spirits as two bottles of Ruinart “R” Brut Champagne served with canapés welcome you to the presidential Mandarin Suite. The lavish seven room suite is filled with priceless objet d’arts and features a dining area that seats 12 people as well as a marble bathroom and couple’s spa suite where you can enjoy a 90-minute couples body massage.

03 A Festive Feast

Your Christmas dinner will never be the same again after indulging at the two Michelin-starred Pierre restaurant from renowned Chef Pierre Gagnaire. The festive feast for four is a six-course modern French dinner served up by Chef Gagnaire’s protégé, Jacky Tauvry. Toast to your loved ones or welcome the new year with the premium wine served to pair your meal.

04 Sugar Rush

“On the good ship lollipop. It’s a sweet trip to the candyshop,” goes the iconic Shirley Temple song in the 1934 movie Bright Eyes -and that’s the tune we’re humming when stepping into The Mandarin Cake Shop. Filled with sweet treats, cakes and gourmet gift items, it’s a sweet escape. We especially love the home-made Rose Petal Jam – an absolutely divine floral concoction by Executive Chef Yves Matthey who’s held the recipe close to his chest.

05 Location, Location, Location

An integral part of Hong Kong’s skyline since opening its doors in 1963, there’s no beating the hotel’s fantastic location at the heart of the Central district. You’ll get to witness the iconic annual Christmas tree at the adjacent Statue Square Garden. During New Year’s Eve, you can also bear witness to one of the most spectacular displays of fireworks from Victoria Harbour, just minutes away from the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.
