There is no doubt that Mercedes-Benz, a brand once associated with older generation folks (at least that was the case in Malaysia), have unlocked the formula to start enticing a younger generation of customers. Up and coming professionals, founders of successful start-ups and the youths that could afford it; these people were the focus for Mercedes-Benz’s foray into the compact segment.
And it seems that these youths, are starting to grow up. So, when Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new 2017 facelifted GLA, it’s key defining factor was to combine a dynamic character and stylish highlights with safety and flexibility when it comes to space.
The new GLA comes with modified bumpers, additional light-alloy wheels and the new attractive colour “canyon beige”. According to the literature, they’ve also introduced new off-road suspensions and even more off-road features so the GLA is geared to conquer a myriad of road conditions. According to Mark Raine the vice president of sales and marketing passenger cars at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia “With a sporting soul and a dynamic character combined with its stylish highlights, it is perfectly suited for an active lifestyle.”
Looking to capture the entire spectrum of the compact crossover class, the GLA comes in three variants. The GLA 200 Urban Line is stylish enough on its own but the GLA 250 4MATIC AMG Line ups the ante a bit in terms of driving performance and for those who are really keen on speed (enjoyed responsibly of course) the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC definitely checks that box, and then some.
