Make way for the future.

BMW Group Malaysia has unveiled the new 740Le xDrive, the latest stunning evolution of the luxury sedan that promises to deliver an unparalleled experience for both drivers and passengers through technology, comfort, and engineering.

Described as the perfect union between high-tech and high-end, the newly launched 740Le xDrive  comes fitted with a plethora of impressive features: a futuristic gesture control system that uses hand gestures to operate select BMW iDrive functions, the BMW Touch Command detachable tablet that provides users complete control of their environment at their fingertips, plus a snazzy Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof that comes alive with the aid of 15,000 light elements. Available paint finishes for the marque include Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue, Mineral White and Sophisto Grey. Interior-wise, the upholstery has been lined with sumptuous Nappa leather paired with interior trim finishes in Poplar Grain Grey fine wood.

The 740Le xDrive also comes equipped with BMW Laserlights that offer enhanced nighttime visibility, while the unique Carbon Core body structure reduces not just the vehicle’s weight but also its fuel consumption. Kicking things up a notch is the industry leading xDrive system. Available for the first time in a BMW sedan in Malaysia, this intelligent all-wheel drive system is not only the fastest reacting but also the most flexible all-wheel drive system in its segment.

In terms of performance, the plug-in hybrid sedan certainly delivers by accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds with a fuel consumption of 2.5l/100km and a CO2 emission of 56 g/km. As for the electric power consumption, the BMW 740Le xDrive manages to clock in at an impressive 13.9 kWh per 100 km. The secret to its peak performance lies in the all-new 2.0 litre four-cylinder inline engine under the hood that has been paired with an equally optimised eight-speed Steptronic transmission.

Also integrated into the mix is the electric motor which generates energy to the vehicle’s high-voltage lithium-ion battery. Recharging is as simple as plugging into any domestic power socket, while a full charge can be achieved in under five hours via the BMW i Wallbox Connect that is also manageable using the nifty BMW Remote smartphone app.

Thanks to substantial tax incentives from the Malaysian Government, the 740Le xDrive has been priced at a competitive MYR598,800 (before insurance). Additional perks include BMW Group Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Program and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme. Owners of the 740Le xDrive will also automatically be part of the BMW 360° ELECTRIC program that provides easy access to GreenTech Malaysia’s network of 181 ChargEV stations nationwide through the BMW ChargeNow mobility service.
